
Residence Life
The Residence Life Office (RLO) at Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ¹ÙÍø provides a safe residential space for learning and development.
Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ¹ÙÍø promotes respect and responsibility among individuals in our residential community and encourages students to learn from one another. With a four-year residency requirement, over 95 percent of students live on campus.
RLO manages a safe, secure, and welcoming residential environment that supports and enhances academic performance and social development for all residents.
Through their experiences in the residential community, Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ¹ÙÍø students gain the knowledge, awareness, and skills to lead ethical, inclusive lives. RLO promotes residential communities through the curriculum goals of community responsibilities, self-awareness, wellness, and inclusive excellence.
RLO handles all room assignments, first-year pairing, manages room and damage billing, coordinates social and educational programming in the residential communities, serves as a liaison between residents and maintenance staff and responds to all housing needs.
The Residence Life Office is located next to Lula Bell’s between Vail Commons and Belk Hall.
RLO student leaders are responsible for building communities on their floors and within their buildings, they provide support, role-model behaviors, connect students to campus resources, respond to disciplinary matters within the residence halls/apartments and assist with conflict management.
Selected, trained, and supervised by the RLO professional staff, RLO student leaders are assigned as follows:
- First Year Students: Hall Counselors (HCs)
- Upperclass Students: Resident Advisors (RAs)
