John Crosland Jr. Center for Teaching and Learning (CTL) brings together specialists in technology, library sciences and education to support the work of all Â鶹ÊÓƵ¹ÙÍø scholars—
from first-year students to tenured professors.

Academic Support Peer Tutoring

We offer free tutoring in a range of subjects to all Â鶹ÊÓƵ¹ÙÍø students. Many tutors are dedicated to specific courses as Embedded Tutors (ET's). 

Additionally, students may request a tutoring appointment through the  and/or stop by the Center (located in E.H. Little Library) for drop-in tutoring Sunday-Thursday 8-11 p.m.

Strengthening Skills

Our tutors come highly recommended by professors for their subject mastery and maturity. Once hired, tutors are trained to recognize learning styles and tailor strategies to meet the needs of students. Tutoring is provided free of charge in all subjects, from math and science to psychology and foreign languages.

Innovative Teaching Resources

The Center for Teaching and Learning provides faculty with resources to explore innovative teaching tools, develop new approaches for challenging students, and learn about the latest classroom technologies, all with the goal of improving student learning.

Multilingual Support

The Center for Teaching and Learning provides English writing support to students from diverse language backgrounds. Using a mainstreaming-plus-support model, students are encouraged to seek writing support from their professors, peer tutors, and the multilingual student specialist, whether or not they are struggling in a course.
