The study of mathematics offers a unique and important way of interpreting the world around us, bringing rigor to the quest for discovering patterns in observations both abstract and concrete.
The mathematics curriculum provides each student with an in-depth study of the field and a wide selection of courses that can be tailored to each student's interests, enabling further study and application.
The program nurtures mathematical, computational, and algorithmic points of view in students embarking on a liberal education or desiring skills for other endeavors. Students learn to clearly communicate their reasoning through mathematically rigorous proof. And, there are opportunities to engage with mathematical community at Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ¹ÙÍø and beyond.
Students interested in declaring a mathematics major should fill out the . Students interested in declaring a mathematics minor should fill out BOTH the Mathematics Minor Declaration Form and the Registrar's Office Minor Declaration Form. Survey responses will be used to match students with faculty advisors. This matching will happen at the beginning of each month during the semester.
