Thursday Livestream to Shed Light on Shifting Economy

Two of the leading national figures on monetary policy, both with deep Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ¹ÙÍø connections, will help viewers this week to sort out the fast-moving shifts in the U.S. economy.

Philip Jefferson, vice chair of the Federal Reserve Board of Governors, will join a conversation with Lorie Logan ’95, president of the Dallas Federal Reserve Bank,  from Dallas at 7 p.m., Thursday, March 26.  

Jefferson was vice president for academic affairs and dean of the faculty at Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ¹ÙÍø before joining the Fed’s Board of Governors in 2022. He was nominated and confirmed as vice chair in the fall of 2023. Logan graduated from Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ¹ÙÍø and, now, is a Âé¶¹ÊÓÆµ¹ÙÍø parent. She previously held a series of senior roles with the Fed and took office as Dallas Fed president in 2022. Both of them sit on the Federal Open Markets Committee, which sets monetary policy for the United States.
